SILVER Residence
REVELSTOKE, BRITISH COLUMBIA
IN PROGRESS - SCHEDULED COMPLETION 2026
Silver House is a renovation of an existing residence located on Silver Avenue in Revelstoke, British Columbia. Situated within a mature residential neighbourhood, the house occupies a suburban site with views toward the Columbia River and Eagle Pass beyond.
Rather than replacing the structure, the project focuses on renewal. Two volumes, a two-storey main dwelling and a single-storey garage, are retained and reworked within the existing framework to accommodate contemporary patterns of use. A new entry sequence is formed along the edge of the garage, clarifying arrival while aligning movement and view through the site.
Internally, the layout has been revised to improve spatial flow and everyday functionality. Living spaces are refined to support flexibility, while new openings increase access to daylight without compromising envelope performance.
Upgrades to the building envelope and systems significantly improve thermal comfort and efficiency, aligning the project with current BC Step Code requirements.
By retaining and upgrading the existing structure, the project preserves embodied carbon and extends the life of the house through a measured approach to renovation and reuse.
