Camozzi Residence is a single-family home located at the edge of the Revelstoke Mountain Resort, where the site backs onto forest and opens to views toward Mount Begbie. Set within a landscape shaped by recreation and seasonal use, the house is conceived as a mountain residence shaped by seasonal occupation.

Arrival is marked by a clear axial move. From the front door, a view corridor is established through the house, orienting the interior to the forest and mountains beyond. Kitchen, dining, and living spaces are arranged linearly along this axis, tracking the edge of the yard and forest. A games room sits directly off the kitchen and dining areas, supporting social use as part of daily life. Covered patios extend the living spaces outward and mediate light and weather.

Bedrooms are distributed across levels to support privacy and flexibility, while the walkout basement functions as a self-contained suite for extended family and guests. At approximately 6,000 sq ft, the house accommodates a substantial program while maintaining clarity through section and circulation.

Stepping roof forms and large structural gestures shape the architectural expression, marking entries, patios, and outdoor rooms. A glulam structural system from Slovenia is expressed throughout, establishing a strong relationship between structure and form.

Material use is restrained and tactile. Black-stained Douglas-fir cladding is paired with clear fir soffits and exposed structure, while interiors are defined by light timber millwork, exposed structural members, hemlock ceilings, and a clay-plaster fireplace.

The house is fully electric and designed to integrate a ground-loop system, ERV, ducted heat pump, and radiant in-floor heating. Fully panelised construction with R40 wall panels, an R100 roof, Passive House-certified windows, and wood-fibre exterior insulation support low energy demand and long-term comfort.
