Pine Ridge House is a single-family home located in Revelstoke, British Columbia. The house is arranged as a low-profile residential composition, with spaces composed to balance domestic scale and functional clarity.
The plan unfolds across multiple levels, with primary living spaces located on the main floor. Kitchen, dining, and family areas are organised as a continuous sequence, supporting everyday use and clear circulation. A garage is integrated into the overall footprint, maintaining a direct relationship to the house while remaining secondary to the main living spaces.
Additional accommodation is provided through a self-contained suite and a loft level, both integrated within the overall organisation of the house. The suite operates independently from the main residence, while the loft introduces a vertical relationship within the plan, allowing spaces to connect through section rather than relying solely on open plan.
Internally, the house is structured through a restrained approach to space-making. Built-in elements and changes in ceiling height define circulation, storage, and moments of separation, maintaining clarity while allowing the house to function flexibly over time.
Pine Ridge House is designed to Step Code 5 standards and meets Passive House criteria, featuring double-stud R60 dense-pack cellulose walls, R100 dense-pack ceiling insulation, and R50 slab insulation, with an airtightness level of <0.02 ACH. These strategies ensure exceptional thermal performance, energy efficiency, and long-term comfort while supporting sustainable living in the Revelstoke climate.
